Family Vacation

So the Hammans Family had its first family vacation.

We left Oregon in July 28th and arrived in Redding that evening. Our trip continued the next day when we continued on to Sacramento where we stayed with Jeff's Older sister Katy and her husband Steve and their daughter Ashley and their dog Daisey. It was awesome getting to meet all of his family, and that they would open up there homes and hearts to all of us. We pick up Jeff's Mom when we left Redding so it was a real family reunion, since they had not all seen each other in quiet a few years. We got to see all of Jeff old neighborhoods and schools as he showed us around Sacramento and the surrounding areas. We got to enjoy the pool latter that day. Then Uncle Steve played with the kids out in the back yard, they had a blast.

The following day Thursday we left early to go visit San Francisco we had a lot of fun being tourist all day.We arrived via the Golden Gate Bridge. My Tia Shirley, Shelly and the boys all came us from Riverside to have lunch with us which we had after we toured the bay. It was so nice to see them since it had been a year since we had seen each other and so nice to meet Brady, he is such a happy big boy. He is so sweet. After lunch the kids got to ride the carousel. Then we went to go ride the Trolley and visited China town. Man you really get a work out walking those hilly streets.
After that we rode the trolley back to the Piers. And rode the bus up to Coit tower, rode the elevator 21 floor up to the top and got an awesome view of the city. A ride through the Presidio and down to Fort Point finished off the day. We left The City via the Bay Bridge and got back to Sacramento .
The next day we took a rest day to recover from all that walking.
Saturday was the day of Jeff's High School Reunion which started with a Family Picnic at a park in Downtown Sacramento, where I got to meet a few of Jeff's friends and the kids had fun playing with their kids. After that is was back to the house to get ready for the dance. Jeff and I got all dressed up to go back downtown to the Galleria Library, The kids got to stay at home and play in the pool and have movie and Pizza night with their Aunt Katy and Uncle Steve and Ashley. I got to meet more of Jeff's friends and their wives.
Sunday was another busy day, It started with all of us, Katy, Steve, Ashley,Grandma Lois, Laura(Jeff's younger sister) and all our Troop going to have our Portrait taken. Then a quick visit to see Jeff's dad and his wife. After which we left Sacramento to start our trip back to Oregon. We again stopped in Redding for the night.
We continued our trip on Monday, we decided to take a different route home so we took the scenic 101 highway up so we were able to stop at the Redwood National Park. We took a 3 hour hike around the huge giants and even got to crawl inside one of them, the kids loved that part. Then back on the road till we reached Bandon Oregon where Jeff wanted to show the kids the tide pools. We were so lucky that the tide was low and we got to play on the beach, Abby picked up a star fish, there were so many. And we climbed 20 feet up in the air to see the tide pool on the rocks. Matthew was like a little mountain goat climbing, he was fearless. After three hours of playing on the beach we finally got back on the road. So we finally made it home at 1:30am.

So our first vacation was busy and crazy, but we all had a great time meeting family members, visiting new places, seeing new things, but I can honestly say it is good to be Home.
